E ngā reo, e ngā mana, e ngā karangataha, e te rangatira, tēnā koe,

He manako ia ki a haumaru koe hoki me to whānau, ou whare me o hapori i ngā āhua o te rangi i a marama.

You may recall that earlier in the year, Te Kāhui Ahumahi invited you to a wānanga kōrero about the Future of Māori Workforce Development in Te Tai Tokerau.  The wānanga kōrero was postponed in the aftermath of Cyclone Gabrielle.

Te Kāhui Ahumahi is now re-convening this wānanga kōrero in Te Tai Tokerau and it is my pleasure to invite you as Chair of Te Rūnanga o Ngā Puhi to this inaugural iwi engagement wānanga kōrero.   The event is being co-ordinated by the Te Tai Tokerau members of Te Kāhui Ahumahi, Rhonda Kite ONZM and Hinurewa te Hau (Deputy Chair) along with the chair, John Chapman and myself.  The wānanga kōrero will be held at Tahuaroa Function Centre in the Waitangi Treaty Grounds on 12th June 2023.

I am attaching an official invitation and some information about Te Kāhui Ahumahi and Ngā Ohu Ahumahi, the newly formed Workforce Development Councils.

The purpose of this wānanga is to provide a platform for the leadership of iwi and hapū of Ngā Puhi alongside the rest of the iwi and hapū of Te Tai Tokerau, together with Māori businesses and economic influencers to inform our Workforce Development Councils about your priorities in your rohe and your views of workforce development and the future of work for Māori in your rohe.

In regard to your previous response to me, we have an extensive mailing list to whom we are sending this invitation.  However you are welcome to extend this invitation to any of your leadership whom you may wish to attend.
