No te Whiringa-a-rangi nei, ka tu te hui tuatahi a te poari o Kahukuraariki, a, ka tohua he turanga hou ki etahi ana ko tetahi. Ko te kopoutanga o JJ Ripikoi, hei heamana hou o te poari o Kahukuraariki. Te turanga o Teresa Tepania-Ashton I mua atu I a ia.

Following our AGM in October, JJ Ripikoi was newly appointed as the Chairperson for the Kahukuraariki Trust.

He uri tฤ“nei no Te Parata rฤua ko Kahukuraariki, heke iho ki a Tarei Paeara, ki a Rina, ki a Ira, ki a Mihiteria Atama, ki a La-Verne King. Ka puta ko tฤ“nei Mokopuna no Taemaro.

JJ replaces Whaea Teresa Tepania-Ashton as the Chairperson for the Trust. Whaea Teresa served as our Trusts chairperson since 2018, and has been crucial in the Trusts direction and successes. Whaea Teresa gracefully accepted the role of Deputy Chairperson and will support JJ in his new role as the Chairperson for the Kahukuraariki Trust.

Hei ta JJ Ripikoi, te Heamana o Kahukuraariki Trust.

โ€œKei aku Kaumฤtua, Kuia, Tฤ“ina, Tuakana, ngฤ whanaunga katoa o Ngฤti Kahu ki Whangaroa, tฤ“nei te mihi.
I am honoured to be elected as the new Chairman for the Kahukuraariki Trust Board, mo te Iwi o Ngฤti Kahu ki Whangaroa.

As a Rangatahi, I come into this role with an open-mind, a lot of passion and plenty of energy to strengthen our Iwi.

Three key points that are front and centre for me:
1. To strengthen relationships within our Iwi and Hapลซ
2. Building opportunities for our whฤnau to prosper
3. To ensure Ngฤti Kahu ki Whangaroa is present in national discussions of importance

Our Iwi is still in its infancy as a settled entity. I acknowledge the range of issues pressing our whฤnau at the moment. To that effect, I invite all our whฤnau to be involved and feed into the mahi that we are doing in the Trust Board. Thereโ€™s very little we can achieve from the outskirts.
